Its been a while....

Its been quite a while since I have updated this little blog. I have quite a few new things to share with you all.

I have made a decision to go full time with my pottery and have moved to Utica, NY to make it happen. I'm living and working in an old grainery that has been recently renovated into an apartment and artist's studio spaces. It is a great space and I am very lucky to be here.

I have been accepted into a few shops in the Adirondack area. The first is Artworks of Old Forge. This is a great little artist's coop with many local craftsmen. I work there a few days out of the month and have really been enjoying it. If you ever happen to be in the area take a few minutes and check it out. It is a beautiful drive there! The second shop is East Coast Carvers on Route 12 North. They have a variety of furniture, pottery, lighting and carvings. Its definitely worth a stop as well.

I am also very excited to announce that I will be a vendor at the Second Storie Indie Market this November! It will be my 4th time and I am so excited to be a part of it. This will be taking place at the Visual Studies Workshop on Prince Street in Rochester, NY. Check out the vendors list. It is such a great and talented group of people!

Don't forget to keep an eye on my Etsy shop as well. I'll be adding some new things towards the end of this week!

I hope you all are enjoying your night.

Til next time :)

Second Storie Indie Market

It has been quite a while since I have updated.

I have been working a bunch in the studio these past weeks to prepare for:

Second Storie

It is such a wonderful show and I am honored to be a part of it. I will have the usual wares (cups, bowls, jars) and will also be selling some new work! I have a new line of piggy banks and ornaments. The little mobies above are examples of some of the piggy banks.

Come take a look at Second Storie on Nov. 28th and 29th at the Visual Studies Workshop on Prince St. in Rochester, NY! Just in time for your Christmas shopping!

I hope to see you all there.

I moved!

This past weekend I have moved completely in to Julia's studio on Canal St. while she is off in Montana. I should be there until May of this year. I am so lucky to have had worked with her and to be given this space for me to work in! For that I am so grateful.
My wheel is the only thing left to make its way over there.
I am excited to be making work again after a year's hiatus.
Now all that is left is figuring out what to make and how I am going to glaze with no glaze pantry. That will be a challenge but I am ready to start.
I will post some pictures at a later date once I've started working hopefully this week!

A new show..

My friend Ilena has curated a show I am in titled Dualis that opens on April 4th and runs until June 14th. You can find all of the info here
It has some really great people in it and I wish I were closer to CA so I could make my way there to see it!

I am going to be starting to make some new work hopefully within the next week and am working on applications for residencies. We'll see what happens....

I have quite a few updates I guess.
I had been invited to participate in a group show named "Vessels" that has opened March 8th. The show runs until April 28th and I'm very excited to be a part of it! My studiomates are in it as well. You can check out the link here
I have also been accepted into "Put a Lid On It" being held at Mudfire. It will open May 12th and run until June 9th. When their site is updated with the show images I will post the link.
I have been invited to teach a class at the Memorial Art Gallery's Creative Workshop that will begin in May as well. I will be teaching 3-5 year olds and their parents how to make things out of clay! You can see the class schedules here.
And finally I have been working on posting my work on Etsy for sale. Nothing is up as of yet but I am hoping to have some pieces posted by early this week once I get my images together. So make sure you look into that when you have a chance.

new kids on the block...

I've been playing around with red clay lately and working with slip too, both of which I don't have a whole lot of experience with. There is something about this "messy" look that I like and I have to say I have been having a great time making them! I feel like I don't need to worry (which I seem to be famous for, you know, it's that precious pot syndrome) when I make them. The process is easy and goes quickly and yields some nice results I think.
